The Biggest Land Based Casinos In The World

There are many enormous, luxurious casinos in the world. The best offer incredible service, outstanding restaurants, and live shows that are second to none. But putting all the quality of the services aside, let’s take a look at those that are the largest. This is taking into account the floor space, and disregarding all other factors. So the casinos on this list are certainly the biggest, but not necessarily the objective best. Which you prefer will be a matter of preference.

WinStar World Casino

The biggest casino in the world, by a fairly large margin, is the WinStar World Casino located in Oklahoma. To be more specific, it is about an hour south of Oklahoma City, and an hour north of Dallas. Many are surprised to learn that the biggest casino in the world is not in Las Vegas or Macao, but with more than 600,000 square feet of dedicated gambling space, it doesn’t get any bigger than this. Interestingly, the WinStar was first opened in 2003, and didn’t make number one on the list. But after a massive upgrade in 2013, it quickly topped the charts.

Venetian Macao

The Venetian Macao may only be second on the list, with a gambling space of 546,000 square feet, but it makes up for this by offering genuine, indoor gondola rides. It also has 3 shopping malls, over 3,000 electronic gambling consoles, and 870 tables. So luxury is more of a concern for the Venetian Macao than size. Though, it is still technically in second place, and by a fair amount. Even if it does have 3,000 dedicated hotel accommodation suites.

City Of Dreams

The City of Dreams happens to be the neighbour of the Venetian Macao, but can best be considered the little brother of its neighbour. Though don’t think this makes it a lesser venue in terms of overall luxury and hospitality. Even still, the City of Dreams has 420,000 square feet of gambling. This technically does equate to less than half the number of gambling consoles of its big brother, with 1,350, and likewise less than half the accommodation, with 1,400 rooms.

Foxwoods, located in Connecticut, USA, comes in at fourth with a 340,000 square foot dedicated gambling area. Interestingly enough, it does happen to have a great deal more gambling consoles than its competitors, with 7,000. It also boasts its own Hard Rock Café, which is certainly a drawing card that can’t be overlooked, as well as 824 rooms of accommodation.

Ponte 16

Last of the top 5 is Ponte 16, which is also nearby the Venetian Macao and City of Dreams. So for those keeping track, 3 of the top 5 biggest casinos in the world are in Macao, China. Ponte 16 is notable for being the only casino in the heart of Macao, which is an area that is designated as a World Heritage site, given the incredible age of the buildings in the area. Ponte 16 has 270,000 dedicated square feet of gambling 320, 150 gambling tables, and 423 rooms of accommodation.
